Using Product Catalog on SendWo

SendWo allows your businesses to showcase their products directly inside WhatsApp chats by creating and integrating a product catalog, making it easier for customers to browse, inquire, and purchase, all within the same conversation.

This tutorial will guide you through all the steps on how to create a WhatsApp catalog on SendWo and build interactive chatbot flows to display your products and automate order management with Google Sheets.

Step 1: Create a WhatsApp Product Catalog

Begin by setting up your product catalog using Facebook Commerce Manager.

Follow the steps given below:

1. Go to business.facebook.com.

2. Click the Menu (☰) icon and select Commerce Manager.

3. Choose Add Catalog > Continue and follow the pop-up instructions to create your new catalog.

4. Now, enter a catalog name that best suits you (e.g., “Your Store Name Catalog”) and select your business portfolio also.

5. You may optionally connect it to an e-commerce platform such as Shopify or WooCommerce.

6. Skip the “Connect to Event Tracking” prompt.

7. Ensure you grant Full Control permissions under “Product sets for ads,” then click on Next.

8. Select Manually Add Your Products, then click Next again.

9. Inside your catalog, click first on View Catalog > Add Items to upload product details manually, which includes product names, images, pricing, and descriptions.

10. Once uploaded, click on Upload Items to save all.

11. On completion, you can also upload more products later using Data Feed or partner integrations.

12. Lastly, ensure your WhatsApp Business account is linked to your Facebook Business Manager, and this will enable you with:

  • Show catalog icon in chat header
  • Shows “Add to Basket” button on product pages and chat

The above options will make your catalog visible in WhatsApp chats and allow your users to view and purchase products effortlessly.

Connect Your Catalog to WhatsApp:

a. Return to All Tools > WhatsApp Manager.

Go to All Tools, then WhatsApp Manager and select Catalog

b. Under Account Tools, select Catalog.

c. Choose your catalog and click Connect Catalog. This will link your WhatsApp Business number.

Step 2: Connect Your WhatsApp Account to SendWo

Now that your catalog is ready with the above steps, it’s time to integrate it into your SendWo Dashboard.

To connect your account:

  1. Log in to your SendWo Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Connect Account > WhatsApp Accounts.
  3. Click Connect WhatsApp Account. This will complete the authorization flow with Facebook.
  4. After connecting, go to the E-commerce Catalog section in SendWo to view and manage your linked catalog.

Your catalog will now sync automatically with SendWo. This will allow your WhatsApp chatbot to showcase real-time product listings.

Step 3: Build a Chatbot Flow to Showcase Products

Now that your catalog is connected, it's time to design your interactive WhatsApp chatbot to display products to the customers directly within a conversation.

Follow these steps given below:

  1. In the SendWo dashboard, go to Chatbot Manager > WhatsApp bot.
  2. Click on Bot Reply, then select the Create button to open the Visual Flow Builder.
  3. Double-click the Start Bot Flow node and name your flow (e.g., “Product Catalog Flow”) and set a trigger keyword (e.g., “catalog”, “shop”, “browse”).
  4. Drag an Interactive Message component into the canvas.
  5. Configure the message with a header, body text, and footer that introduce your catalog — e.g.,
    “Browse our latest collection below 👇”
  6. From this block, drag a connector to the E-commerce Catalog component.
  7. Double-click the catalog component and select your linked catalog from the dropdown.
  8. Add multiple product sections by connecting from the Multiple Products socket.
  9. Customize each section by naming it (e.g., “Best Sellers,” “New Arrivals,” “Discounted Products”) and selecting specific products from your catalog.
  10. Once your flow is complete, click Save & Publish.

This will make your chatbot live, and whenever users send the trigger keyword, they’ll instantly receive your product catalog with images, prices, and “Add to Cart” buttons right inside WhatsApp.

Step 4: Configure Payment and Checkout Settings

Setting up your preferred payment methods inside Facebook’s Commerce Manager enables a smooth buying experience.

Follow the steps to set up payments:

  1. In Commerce Manager, go to Settings > Payment Settings.
  2. Select a payment provider such as Stripe, PayPal, or Razorpay, and enter the required API credentials.
  3. Now, select your preferred currency, position, and decimal format, and click Save.
  4. Under Cart Settings, fill out blocks, if asked:
    • Applicable tax percentages
    • Shipping charges or delivery fees
  5. Set up Abandoned Cart Reminders. This will automatically message your users who added items to their cart but didn’t complete checkout(This is totally optional).

Step 5: Automate Order Data Collection with Google Sheets

Always link your catalog to Google Sheets through SendWo to make order tracking and reporting effortless.

Steps to automate order tracking:

  1. Within your SendWo Dashboard, go to Integrations > Google Sheets.
  2. Connect your Google account and create a new Sheet (or choose an existing one).
  3. Add column headers such as: Order ID, Product Name, Buyer Name, Phone Number, Amount, Order Date, Address, and Status.
  4. Next, navigate to the E-commerce Catalog inside SendWo.
  5. Choose your linked catalog and connect it to your Google Sheet.

Once the full setup is complete, all orders will be placed through your WhatsApp catalog and will automatically populate your Google Sheet, keeping your order data organized and ready for analysis.
